Rehearsals...

Hi Everyone! 

6th Grade Band Parents: 6th Grade rehearsal was cancelled today do to excessive conflicts with track and other things. We are rescheduling for Friday May 1st during 4th Block. Please remind your students to bring their instruments and music on Friday morning! 

Next week's rehearsals are as follows:

Tuesday May 5th - 7th and 8th Grade Band until 3:40

Wednesday May 6th- 7th and 8th Grade Band until 3:40. 

WE REALLY NEED TO HAVE 100% ATTENDANCE AT THESE REHEARSALS TO ENSURE SUCCESS AT THE CONCERT!

GT Summer Music Program Registration is Now Open!

Registration for the SUMMER MUSIC PROGRAM is now open! I will be sending home registration forms this week. Forms can be sent back to me OR you can register online at www.glenlandingband.info . There is a link to the registration in the top right corner of the home page. The program will run from June 22nd until July 29th and is free of charge. The only cost involved is instrument rentals if applicable. 

Note: You can still participate if you will miss some of the weeks due to vacation, other camps etc. Attendance at every lesson or the concert is not mandatory. Students attending Sumner Katch Key can also participate as well. 

This is a great chance for students to not only keep their current skills progressing, but also to start learning a second instrument if that interests them!

Rehearsal and Concert News!!!

Hi Everyone! 

We are in our 1 month window for the concert! Attendance at lessons, after school rehearsals and practicing at home will be VERY important in the coming weeks! 

"Parcc Round 2" starts next week but should not disrupt the schedule nearly as much as the last time. I will be scheduling as many make up lessons as I can so students will need to keep checking in and listening to the morning announcements for information! 

The concert is on May 21st at 7:00 PM. Admission is free! 

This weeks rehearsals will be as scheduled:

7th & 8th Grade Band on Tuesday until 3:40

6th Grade Band on Wednesday until 3:40

ALL AFTER SCHOOL REHEARSALS ARE MANDATORY UNTIL THE CONCERT! Please be sure to remind your students about rehearsals.

Honors Concert Tomorrow!

Just a reminder that the GT Honor's Band and Choir Concert is tomorrow, April 1st at Ann Mullen School. The concert begins at 7:00 PM and students need to report at 6:30 PM. Dress code is black and white and dressy. If you have any questions please email me at mrbrooksmusic@gmail.com.

THIS CONCERT IS ONLY HONORS BAND ANS CHOIR MEMEBERS. 

Honors Band Auditions Update- Thursday Evening

I spoke to the other band directors just now and we are having Honor’s Band Auditions on Monday March 9th. Those auditioning should report to the band room after dismissal to wait for the busses. The bus will take the kids to Mullen at 3:15 and students will need ride home from auditions after they are done auditioning. I would advise that students make sure to have their phones charged so they can call fro a ride when they are done. Yes, they will be allowed to leave when their audition is completed…no need to hang around. Some snacks will be available for purchase at auditions. Please be sure to bring instruments to school on Monday morning! And practice practice practice your scales (for winds and mallets) and rudiments (for percussion) over this LOOOOOONG weekend!

Honors Band Audition Update

Honors Band auditions are scheduled to be held on Thursday afternoon at Ann Mullen Middle school. At the moment, there is a chance of weather complications. I spoke to the other two band directors this morning and this is our plan...

1. If Thursday is a full snow day, auditions are automatically moved to Tuesday, March 10. 

2. If we are in school or have a delayed opening, AND after school activities are cancelled, we will move auditions to Tuesday, March 10. An announcement will be made no later than lunch to the students and I will post an announcement to the "announcements" page on the band website, www.glenlandingband.info .

3. If we have a delayed opening and after school activities are NOT cancelled, audions will run as scheduled. 

Please note that an automatic email may not be sent out immediately when I post to the announcements page, so check the actual page around noon. 

I will keep everyone posted as I know more information. Hopefully all of this "weather" ends soon!!! 

GT Honors Band Auditions 3/5/2015

Greetings! Gloucester Township Honors Band auditions will be held this week at Ann Mullen Middle School. If your child is planning on auditioning, please be sure to send the audition registration form (sent home last week with those I spoke with) along with the $5 audition fee, no later than Wednesday 3/4/2015. Auditions are on Thursday 3/5/2015. Student will be bussed to Mullen around 3:15 pm. Plan on staying after school Thursday if you are auditioning. Students will need a ride home from Mullen after they are done auditioning (probably around 5:00 ish). Again, transportation will be provided to the audition, however transportation will not be provided from the auditions. Snack will be available for purchase at auditions.
